Privacy Policy
No tracking. No ads. No accounts.MD Editor is a Markdown editor for Mac, iPhone, iPad, Windows, and Android. Your privacy is simple here: the app is free, with no accounts, no purchases, no analytics, no tracking, and no ads, and the developer never sees your documents.
What the developer collects
Nothing. MD Editor contains no analytics and no third party tracking SDKs. The developer receives no information about you or how you use the app.
Your documents
The documents you create and edit stay where you keep them: on your device, or in the folder or storage app you open them from. On Mac, iPhone, and iPad, if you turn on sync, a copy is also kept in your own private iCloud, under your Apple Account, where only you can reach it. Sync uses Apple's iCloud (CloudKit private database). Sync is optional and you can turn it off at any time. The Windows and Android apps have no sync. The developer cannot see, read, or access your documents.
What stays on your device
To work, the app keeps a few things on your device and nowhere else: its settings; the list of documents you opened recently (on Android, with the permission you gave it to open each one again); and, on Windows, new documents you have not saved yet, so that they survive a crash. None of it is sent anywhere.
Network use
The editor and preview work fully offline. On Mac, iPhone, and iPad, sync, when enabled, communicates only with your own iCloud. If a document you open contains a link to a remote image, the preview requests that image directly from its host so it can be shown to you; this is initiated by your own content, and the developer neither sees nor records it. Web links you click in the preview open in your browser.
Children's privacy
MD Editor collects no data from anyone, including children.
